Ángel Barbas Coslado


Angel-barbasÁngel Barbas Coslado (abarbas@edu.uned.es) is professor at the National University of Distance Education (UNED), where he teaches Communication and Education at BA and MA level. He holds a PhD (UNED) and a degree in Social Education from the University of Extremadura. He has enjoyed a scholar fellowship within the European Higher Education Area (UNESCO Chair in Distance Education) and has also been a researcher at UNED. His research is oriented to the study and interpretation of communication and education processes of social movements. Angel has taken part in projects, courses, seminars and national and international conferences on communication for social change, social movements, educational communication and media education. He has also published chapters in collective books and papers in scientific journals on these topics. He has been visiting scholar in the University of Texas at Austin (United States) and RMIT University Melbourne (Australia). He is also a member of the Spanish Association of Communication Research (AE-IC), of the UNED research group ‘Knowledge Society’ and a contributor to several publications and citizen media (Binary, Madrid 15-M and Radio ECO Leganés).
