JAVIER García García (javgarci@psi.ucm.es) holds a degree in Law and specializes in nonprofit management and fundamental rights (UNED). Javier is a PhD student at University of Castilla-La Mancha. He has extensive experience in the field of community media. Since 1995, he is member of the Association Radio Almenara, which has promoted projects like “Radio and Disability” and “Radio as an Educational Tool.” For 10 years now, he has been a member of the board at the Union of Free Community Radio in Madrid (URCM) and, since 2006, is also a member of the Communication Rights group at Community Media Network (ReMC). Here, his work has focused on the study of state and regional audiovisual policies and on analyzing how they prevent community media from obtaining radio and TV licenses. He has published extensively on the subject.
